Police arrest phone snatcher who stabbed lady in Yobe

A Police Response Unit, known as Haba Maza, has, in a joint operation with the State Intelligence Department apprehended one Sani Musa of Nayi-Nawa ward, Damaturu in connection with the stabbing of a young salesgirl.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.

He said the 22-year-old suspect was arrested in a hideout in possession of the victim’s snatched cell phone, (Itel A663LC/MTN Sim Card) along with other assorted charms.

“The culprit unequivocally confessed to the commission of the crime when interviewed by police”, the PPRO said.

He said a discrete investigation has commenced on the matter, and proactive measures taken to avert future occurrences.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that a 24-year-old salesgirl, Sheba Simon was stabbed by unidentified hoodlums in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
