Zamfara CP presents N50m cheques to 27 families of deceased police personnel

Zamfara Commissioner of Police Muhammad Shehu Dalijan has presented cheques of N50.1 million to 27 families of deceased police personnel on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

In a statement, the spokesman of the State police command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, said the cheques were part of the IGP’s initiative under the Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme of the Force to assist the families of the officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty..

According to the statement, while presenting the cheques, the Commissioner commended the IGP for his kind gesture and urged the families of the deceased officers to utilize the money judiciously to take proper care of their families.

A beneficiary collecting her cheque from CP Mohammed Shehu during the distribution, thanked the Commissioner for the kind gesture.

Mr. Yahaya Umar, one of the beneficiaries, in his remarks on behalf of other beneficiaries, commended the Inspector General of Police and the State Police Command for their support.
