Police arrest wanted criminal in Jigawa

Police in Jigawa State have arrested a wanted criminal, 25-year-old Abubakar Alhassan, over alleged criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and culpable homicide in Gabasawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

Spokesman of the command, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest to DAILY POST.

He said the suspect was arrested in Ringim local government during a raid of a criminal hideout at Tsuru Fulani settlement.

According to him “On 18/04/24 at about 2030hrs, acting on Credible Intelligence, Policemen attached to Ringim Division swiftly raided a criminal hideout at Tsuru Fulani settlement, Ringim LGA.”

He said during the raid, one Abubakar Alhassan, aka Abu Dogo, of Ringim LGA was arrested and when searched four pieces of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered from him.

Shiisu said the investigation revealed that the suspect is an ex-convict who has been at large in a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and culpable homicide in Gabasawa.

He said the suspect would be taken to court after investigation.
