Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has said he was never frightened by his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo during their time at Old Trafford.
He said this while naming the most difficult players he faced at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground.
Neville, regarded as one of the best full-backs during his playing days, played against some world-class players at the peak of the Sir Alex Ferguson era as the Red Devils’ boss.
Speaking to England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on The Overlap, Neville said, “I played against Cristiano Ronaldo a couple of times where he came over to my side, it was tough.
“I don’t think he enjoyed it either though. At the time, he was quite young, and I was experienced.
“I wasn’t fazed by him because I’d played against him every day. I always say this, the best players I played against were in training – Giggs, Ronaldo, and Rooney.”
