Take lessons of sacrifice, compassion beyond Ramadan season ‐ Buni tells Muslims

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has tasked Muslim faithful to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.

Buni in a Sallah message through his Director General Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, also enjoined the Muslims to extend the spirit of the season to their neighbours.

“As we celebrate the Eid-el-fitr, marking the end of the one month religious obligation, l enjoin us all to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.

“I am particularly impressed with the massive feeding programme provided by government, individuals, and corporate organisations to orphans, indigent families, and vulnerable groups. This should be encouraged even after Ramadan,” Buni said.

He commended security agencies for their contributions to peace and stability of the state, and reminded the people to continue praying for the unity, peace, security and prosperity of the entire country.

The governor said government would this year launch a programme to facilitate agricultural revolution in Yobe State to enhance food sufficiency and security.

“I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to the good people of Yobe state, especially our energetic youth, to take advantage of this intervention to explore, exploit and expand the agricultural potentials in your various communities.

“Our government is committed to making agriculture productive, attractive, and profitable in the state. This is to promote food sufficiency and security in the state,” the governor said.

He assured the people that government would continue to provide the necessary infrastructure to fastrack development to improve the lives of the people.
