Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has said that he ‘respects’ Arsenal player, Kai Havertz for proving his doubters wrong and silencing his critics this season.
Havertz has been in fine form in recent weeks for Arsenal.
It took the Germany international time to win over Arsenal fans after somewhat of a slow start at Emirates after joining the Gunners from Chelsea for £65m last summer.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg tie with Bayern Munich, Ferdinand told his FIVE podcast, “Shout out to Kai Havertz.
“Some of the fan base that he signed for didn’t even want him, wanted him out.
“He said do you know what, you are going to have him, you are going to have to respect me. And he is doing his thing. Respect to him.”
