EPL: His best game in Arsenal shirt – Alan Smith hails forward after 3-0 Brighton win

Former Arsenal striker, Alan Smith, has said the 3-0 win over Brighton saw Kai Havertz’s best game for the club.

Havertz grabbed his ninth Premier League goal at the Amex and provided a late assist for Leandro Trossard, as the Gunners returned to the top of the Premier League.

It was also the 24-year-old’s fourth goal since Mikel Arteta moved him up top in February.

The German created four chances against Brighton – the most of any player on the pitch.

“Havertz had his best game in an Arsenal shirt,” Smith said on Sky Sports.

“He looks so at home in that role he has been asked to play.

“Havertz was tremendous again today. His overall performance has been superb and now his goal contribution is higher than anyone else in the league in the last few months.

“His work-rate too – he was chasing back 70 metres here. This heart and this determination, that’s why everybody loves him,” he added.
