Ondo Guber: Face your campaign, Aiyedatiwa has no certificate issue – Group to aspirants

A group, Ondo Liberation Initiatives, OLI, has advised aspirants seeking the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election to focus on their campaigns instead of dissipating energy on the authenticity of the certificate and education qualifications of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

According to the chairman of the group, Biyi Poroye, who addressed newsmen in Akure, contrary to insinuation in some quarters, Aiyedatiwa has no certificate scandal.

A few weeks ago, a purported police report trended in the state over the alleged discrepancies in the WAEC result of the governor.

It was alleged that the secondary school where the governor sat for his WAEC in Ikosi-Ketu in Lagos State was only two years old, with various aspirants raising eyebrows over the development.

While stressing that Aiyedatiwa is well-qualified to contest the ticket of the APC, Poroye maintained that the governor will win the governorship race.

Poroye, who is also the co-convener of Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), urged those not comfortable with the academic qualifications of Aiyedatiwa to approach the court of law to seek redress instead of brandishing what he described as a fake police report on his academic records.

“The media platforms have been abuzz with lurid stories, insinuating that Governor Aiyedatiwa does not have a secondary school certificate as claimed in his biodata. Thankfully, facts don’t lie.

“Recall that the then Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, in his developmental stride in the education sector, relocated some dilapidated public schools to his newly built public schools.

“Therefore, Governor Aiyedatiwa, who claims that he entered Ikosi High School in 1980 and passed out of the school in 1982, was right after all, because he was relocated to that school when he was in Form 3, and he passed out of it in 1982, at Form 5.

“This tale of the certificate scam is no longer new, and it begs questions as to why it is going viral for nothing. Definitely, detractors are crying wolf where there is none.

“This has no doubt addressed the worry of all those who have been asking how Aiyedatiwa could enter secondary school in 1980 and pass out in 1982.”
