Former Newcastle striker, Alan Shearer, has picked Manchester City as the favourites to win the Premier League title, despite their 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
The result saw the champions fall three points behind leaders Liverpool.
With nine fixtures left this season, City manager Pep Guardiola claims Liverpool are in pole position.
Guardiola’s side will face Aston Villa who were the last team to beat them on Wednesday night.
And although City’s performances have been unconvincing, Shearer is still backing them to end up on top.
“At the moment it is advantage Liverpool, and Arsenal are not going away, but, with nine games to go, I still see Manchester City as favourites for the Premier League title.
“That feeling is not really based on how City are playing right now, though,” Shearer told BBC Sport.
He added: “And, while their rivals might be in better form, City have the experience to know that the draw with Arsenal was not a disaster.
“They were my pick to win the league when it started and I am certainly not going to change my mind now.”
