Liverpool: Troy Deeney names coach that’ll succeed Klopp at Anfield

Watford striker, Troy Deeney has suggested the coach that will eventually succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Klopp will leave Anfield at the end of the season after announcing his decision in January to take a sabbatical after an incredibly successful nine-year stint at Liverpool.

Liverpool have been searching for the German’s replacement.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Deeney named Gary O’Neil as a potential replacement for the Liverpool managerial job when Klopp finally leaves the Reds.

“You are inheriting people who are used to winning, they are all internationals. It is a good one but also it can be a real big shoe to fill, so you’ve got to be a certain type of character,” Deeney said.

“I’m going to throw a name at you, I think they [Liverpool] need a coach next year more than a manager, so I’m going to say Gary O’Neil.”

O’Neil is currently the head coach of Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
