Gunmen storm church, kidnap 2 members in Ogun

Gunmen stormed a Celestial Church of Christ in Mowe, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Thursday and kidnapped two worshippers.

The police public relations officer of the state, Omolola Odutola, while confirming the incident, identified the victims as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

Odutola revealed that the gunmen escaped through a thick forest behind the church after the abduction.

“On March 28, 2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial church around Oriyarin village, Mowe, and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and one Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church,” she said.

Odutola added that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, is aware of the incident and has ordered officers of the command to track down the abductors and rescue the hostages.
