Rivers: Police confirm car thieves in coma after mob action

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that two men who faced mob action for alleged car theft along Stadium Road, Elekahia in Port Harcourt, are currently in a coma.

The confirmation was made by the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko.

Iringe-Koko further disclosed that the suspects are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt.

She said operatives of the Elekahia Police Division responded to a distress call and rescued a victim who was stabbed by the suspected car thieves.

The suspects had, in the early hours of Monday, attempted to snatch a Toyota Corolla car from a Bolt cab driver after stabbing him.

The driver raised an alarm which attracted a mob before the arrival of the Police.
