EPL: Roy Keane suggests manager that could replace Ten Hag at Man Utd

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, has voiced his opinion that England national team manager Gareth Southgate could take over from Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, after the conclusion of the European Championships this summer.

Ten Hag’s job at Manchester United is currently under threat due to his inability to deliver favorable results, with criticisms stemming from premature eliminations from the UEFA Champions League and the EFL Cup, as well as being out of the Premier League title race.

As a result, Southgate has been linked as one of the potential replacements for the Dutchman.

Keane, in an interview on the Stick to Football podcast, believes that Southgate could make the transition given his connection with Dan Ashworth and his previous work experience with the England setup.

The Irishman said: “I could see that happening, yeah.

“Everyone is thinking he is probably going to leave England this summer if he has a good championship, thinking if they could win it. And if they don’t, you are thinking maybe you have ran your race with it.

“He has that connection with Dan Ashworth and has worked with him previously. Yeah [I could see it happening].”
