Police nab 7 crime suspects in Ekiti

Ekiti State Police Command has arrested seven suspects over alleged offences, including stealing, armed robbery, burglary and attempted murder.

While parading the suspects at the police command in Ado-Ekiti, the Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Adeniran, who was represented by the command’s PRO, DSP Sunday Abutu, said on March 7, the command’s Rapid Response Squad arrested one Peter Olutade with 18 lengths of 12 mm iron rods valued at N261,000 belonging to Ekiti State Airport under construction.

During interrogation, he said the suspect confessed to the crime and said he had previously stolen some iron rods from the site.

Abutu further stated that on February 17, one Ayeni Emmanuel and Suleiman Olaoluwa were arrested within Ekiti State University campus while attempting to remove one Toyota Matrix Car at the car park. The PRO said “Investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for stealing a Toyota Corolla car in Ado-Ekiti on 27-05-21, a Toyota Camry car in Ado-Ekiti on 02-10-22, a Toyota Camry car in Ado-Ekiti on 07-12-22, belonging to different owners.
