Liverpool players want Jurgen Klopp’s assistant coach, Pep Lijnders, to replace him as their new manager and not current favourite Xabi Alonso.
TalkSPORT’s duo of Alan Brazil and Dean Saunders, claim they have behind-the-scenes information that members of the Reds squad would prefer Lijnders.
According to them, they want to reduce disruption when Klopp leaves.
In January, Klopp shocked fans and the world of football, when he announced he would be leaving Anfield after nine years.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach cited exhaustion as a driving factor in his decision to quit.
Klopp also added that he believes the team is in a good place for his successor to come in and hit the ground running.
