Industrial action paralyzes public services in Jigawa

Workers in Jigawa State complied with the indefinite nationwide strike ordered by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, on Tuesday.

DAILY POST observed that the public offices including schools, hospital and banks were closed.

The industrial action equally affected commercial activities especially in Dutse, the capital city of the state.

A statement jointly signed by the State NLC Chairman, Comrade Sunusi Alhassan and TUC Chairman, Bashir Thani Adamu, said the state joined the industrial action following the directive of the NLC national headquarters.

“All State Councils of the Congress have been directed to proceed on an indefinite Nationwide strike action, start from 12:00 Midnight 13 November, 2023 till further notice,” the statement said.
