Kaduna abduction: Zailani calls for proactive leadership in handling insecurity

Speaker of the ninth Kaduna Assembly, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, has expressed concern and solidarity with Governor Uba Sani and the people of Kuriga Ward in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state following the recent abduction of over 280 pupils and teachers from Government Secondary School and LEA primary school.

The attack by bandits on Thursday sparked national outrage and renewed calls for urgent action to address the escalating security challenges in the region and the country at large.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, the Speaker called on the security agencies to swiftly intervene and rescue the abducted students.

He emphasized the need for a coordinated effort to ensure the safe return of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Zailani expressed his delight with Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering commitment to addressing the issue of insecurity in the state, emphasising the significance of public vigilance and collaboration with security forces in the collective effort to curb the widespread insecurity that plagues the nation.

Stressing the importance of unity and cooperation, he underscored the necessity of a cohesive approach in combatting banditry and other criminal activities that pose a threat to the peace and stability of the country.

He said Sani has demonstrated proactive leadership in handling the security challenges in the state since assuming office.

He explained, “His dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of the state’s residents has been evident through his consistent efforts to addressing and mitigate the impact of insecurity in the state.”
