Peseiro thanks backroom staff after Super Eagles exit

Former Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has penned a heartfelt message to his backroom staff following the expiration of his contract.

Peseiro’s contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, officially ended on Thursday.

The Portuguese spent 22 months in charge of the three-time African champions.

The 63-year-old guided the Super Eagles to second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

Peseiro took to the social media to thank all his assistants for the job they did together while in charge of the team.

“Many, many hours of work, but in the end a lot of satisfaction for what we have achieved. Many thanks to my technical staff: Acácio Santos, George Finidi, Maykel Moreira, Vitor Peseiro, Nuno Carrapato, and Olatunji Baruwa.
@ng_supereagles,” he wrote on his X handle.
