NDDC: Rivers rep, Okocha seeks closer ties with security agencies

The Rivers State representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NNDC, board, Mr Tony Okocha has solicited for a closer collaboration with security agencies to enable the board achieve its core mandate.

Okocha, who is the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, made the appeal during a visit to the Nigerian Air Force, Rivers State Command, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

He was received by Air Commodore Ali Hussain Idris, Commander of the 115 Special Operations Group, at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Port Harcourt, alongside other senior officers of the command.

Okocha stated that the purpose of the visit was to formally acquaint himself with the command and to seek their cooperation and support to the NDDC.

He expressed gratitude to the Commander of the Command for earlier initiating a courtesy visit to the state office of the NDDC.

“I am very elated to be here and so is everyone that came with me, this is because of the very vital role security agencies play in our society; as a party we need your collaboration to achieve the aim of our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is to bring dividends of democracy to Rivers people.

“Even as the state representative in the NDDC, I understand the enormous importance of security in order to ensure the commission makes a difference in the lives of Niger Deltans; posterity will judge us if we fail to do the best we can while we hold these positions,” he stated.

Responding, the Commander, Air Commodore Ali Hussain Idris, thanked Okocha and his entourage for the significant visit.

He assured that the doors of the Command were always open to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the NDDC whenever they required their services and support.
