Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has approved the establishment of a Tribunal to tackle traffic offences and violations due to the increasing road accidents in the State.
The Governor also said that his administration would create two truck parks in Gusau, the State capital, to manage heavy traffic being caused by trailers.
The Governor stated this as he presided over the Zamfara State Executive Council meeting on Monday at the Council chamber of the Government House in Gusau, the State capital.
A statement by the Governor’s spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that the Executive Council had sat for the 16th time since the inauguration of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration.
“I have approved the immediate employment of 250 people for the Zamfara Road Traffic Agency, ZAROTA, to enhance the ongoing road constructions as part of my administration’s urban renewal projects”, the Governor said.
According to the statement, the chairman of the council, Governor Lawal, received detailed reports on the progress, challenges encountered, and expected timelines for the completion of each project.
“These updates covered various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and law enforcement”, the statement added.
