Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Darren Bent has given his verdict on Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire’s challenge on Fulham midfielder, Sasa Lukic during both teams’ Premier League tie on Saturday.
Maguire planted his studs on the ankle of Lukic in the first half but escaped with only a booking.
Speaking on punditry duty for Optus Sport, Bent said: “Seeing it on the replay, probably a red.
“I think he is so late and rash. You talk about endangering an opponent, if you look at his ankle there, Lukic, he is fortunate he did not get a nasty injury.
“For me, yeah, it is a red. Looking at that last replay it is a red.”
The match ended in a 2-1 win for Fulham, thanks to goals from Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.
