2024 Olympic Qualifiers: Waldrum bemoans short preparation window for Cameroon clash

Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has voiced his displeasure over the short time frame available for his side to prepare for their 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers against Cameroon.

The West Africans only trained three times ahead of tonight’s first leg tie against the Indomitable Lionesses.

The Super Falcons will also have few days to prepare for the reverse fixture which will hold next week Monday.

Waldrum claimed the short preparation is not good enough for the team but is upbeat his players will be ready for the game.

“Anytime we have an international break, we don’t have much training time especially when you have two matches,” Waldrum told reporters.

“I think we are as prepared as we can be. Our players are playing abroad. Coming after the World Cup, I think the players are in great spirit.

“We respect Cameroon and we know it will be a great match in both legs but I think we would be ready.”

The American has selected 21 players for the third round tie.
