APC calls for investigation into killing of spokesman in Plateau by gunmen

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on security agencies to fish out those who killed the State Publicity Secretary of the Party in Plateau State.

The NWC said fishing the perpetrators out will bring reprieve to the party, his immediate family and will serve as a deterrent to anyone harbouring such motive.

DAILY POST recalls that the State Public Secretary of the APC, Mr Sylvanus Namang, alongside one Sunny Okonkwo was killed last Saturday evening in Pankshin LGA of the State by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

The call was made by the Deputy National Chairman of the Party, Ali Bukar Dalori, when he led some members of the NWC on a condolences visit to the state chapter of the party in Jos on Thursday.

He said, “The demise of our State Publicity Secretary Mr Sylvanus Namang, came to us as a shock, it took us time to even start informing our other officials.

“We call on security operatives to unravel those behind the killing of Sylvanus Namang, who was gruesomely murdered by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

“Bringing the perpetrators to book will bring some kind of reprieve to us and members of his family, and will also serve as a deterrent to anyone planning such evil acts”, he stressed.

Earlier in his remarks, the chairman of the party in the state, Rufus Bature, thanked the NWC for the condolence visit, saying, “Up till now we are yet to come to terms with what has happened.

“But we know one day, everyone must die but the way and manner this incident happened is worrying.

Bature advised members of the party to be security conscious as they go about their daily activities.
