Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has provided the reason for the club’s decision to recall Cesare Casadei from loan.
The youngster has been on loan at Leicester City for the 2023–24 season to enhance his development.
But he has now been forced to return to Stamford Bridge, and Pochettino explained that it is due to injuries affecting most of his trusted midfielders.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, the Argentine spoke about recalling Casadei from the Leicester City loan.
“It was a tough decision because we didn’t want to cut his development short,” he said.
“But, with the injuries of Lavia and Lesley, we needed another midfielder. The squad is only Enzo, Moi, and Conor. We decided together with Cesare.”
