Champions League: Saka is not world class – Rio Ferdinand

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has insisted that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is not world-class yet.

Saka has established himself as a key player for both club and country since bursting onto the scene back in 2020.

The 22-year-old is the Gunners’ top scorer this season with 13 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

But when he was asked if Saka is world class, Ferdinand told his Vibe with Five podcast: “Not yet. Listen, I think Saka’s been unreal. I actually think he needs a bit of a rest, so many games for a young kid.

“But I think, it’s almost like what is world-class? He hasn’t done it in the Champions League, has he? I’m talking in the nitty-gritty stages. Saka’s top, don’t get me wrong. He’s not world-class yet.”
