Katsina APC launches inquiry into alleged anti-party activities during rerun election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Katsina State chapter has formed a special committee tasked with investigating members suspected of engaging in anti-party activities during the recently concluded rerun election in Sabuwa/Faskari/Kankara Federal Constituency Rerun Election.

The committee, led by a former Deputy Governor Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, was formed in response to grievances lodged against some party members suspected of working against the party’s interests in the election. They are expected to conduct a thorough inquiry into the alleged anti-party activities, gathering evidence and testimonies from concerned members.

During the inauguration of the committee at the Katsina Government House on Thursday, the state’s party chairman, Alhaji Sani Aliyu, outlined their mandate to include: reviewing the party’s performance in the rerun election, probing allegations of anti-party activities, verifying the claims, and identifying individuals involved.

According to Aliyu, the state governor, Malam Dikko Radda has expressed confidence in the committee’s impartiality and pledged to abide by its submissions.

The committee which has a two weeks timeframe to submit their findings and submit recommendations to the state party leadership comprises of the following prominent members:

Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, Former Deputy Governor, Katsina State, a current serving Senator, Abdulaziz Yar’adua, Fadila Dikko, State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed Namadi, Secretary Katsina APC, and elder statesman, Alhaji Kabir Maska, among others.

In his remarks, the committee chairman, Tukur Jikamshi, expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged the committee’s unwavering commitment to fulfill their responsibilities with honesty and diligence, offering guidance in alignment with the party’s constitution.
