The Kano State Fire Service has saved 25 lives and property valued at N95 million from 70 fire incidents recorded in the state in January.
The Public Relations Officer of the agency in the state, Mr Saminu Abdullahi, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday in Kano.
Abdullahi also said two persons lost their lives while property worth N40 million was destroyed by fire during the period.
“The service responded to nine rescue calls and 11 false alarms from residents of the state,” he added.
He admonished the general public to handle fire with care, particularly during the harmattan season
