The English Premier League, EPL, have congratulated four Super Eagles stars after Nigeria booked their place in the semi-final of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
EPL said this in a tweet via its official X account after Nigeria defeated Angola 1-0 in the AFCON quarter-final encounter on Friday.
The four Super Eagles players are Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Frank Onyeka and Calvin Bassey.
“Nigeria are into the AFCON semi-finals,” EPL tweeted.
“Congratulations to Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi.”
DAILY POST reports that Onyeka currently plays his club football at Premier club, Brentford, while Aina represents Nottingham Forest.
Iwobi and Bassey play for Fulham.
