The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has denied running for the office of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Bello denied authorizing anybody to circulate any posters on his behalf claiming he is a loyal party man who is committed to the leadership of Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman.
The former governor said claims of him running for the office of APC National Chairman should be disregarded.
Recall that posters of Bello running for the office of APC National Chairman were sighted in Abuja.
His posters carried the inscription: “APC Next Level. Alhaji Yahaya Bello as APC National Chairman. Leading the Change, Building a Stronger APC.”
Bello’s posters were sighted around the Federal Secretariat and on walls and fences of structures around the APC National Secretariat on Blantyre Street at Wuse 2 in Abuja.
However, the former governor said the insinuation of party chairmanship ambition through some posters in Abuja “is infantile, false and should be disregarded.”
A statement he signed said APC “is not in the process of conducting congresses or a convention, therefore, there is absolutely no basis for anyone to circulate any posters for party offices.”
