Adamawa: Police, hunters kill 3 suspected kidnappers, rescue hostages

Police operatives and some local hunters in Adamawa State have killed three suspected kidnappers and rescued two hostages.

A statement released by Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, revealed that on Wednesday, January 24, operatives of the Command disconnected a criminal network at Koma Hill, connecting parts of Kojoli and Karlahi districts of Jada and Fufore local government areas.

“The operation, which was carried out by the Command’s operatives attached to Crack Squad and hunters of Tabbital Pulaku Association, yielded positive result.

“The suspected kidnappers on the 24/1/2024 stormed the cattle ranch of Alhaji Jibo Karlahi and whisked away Umar Jibo, 18 years old, and Idi Hassan, 13 years old.

“The Command mobilized the rescue team and went after the kidnappers.

“Upon sighting our men, they engaged them in a gun duel. As a result, three of them were neutralized but others escaped with bullet wounds. Interestingly the two victims were rescued unharmed,” the statement said.

A pump action gun, a single barrel gun and a locally fabricated revolver gun as well as handsets, chains, mats and charms were recovered from the suspects.
