PDP chairman, others defect to APC in Jigawa

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Alhaji Talba Diginsa, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, with his supporters.

Diginsa said the executive members of the PDP in the council, alongside 360 members, dumped the party over lack of focus and poor leadership in the state.

He added, “We decided to dump PDP despite our positions in the party due to the wonderful leadership and commitment of the present Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Namadi, within just six months he spent in office.

“We are sure Governor Mallam Umar Namadi will succeed in governing the state by looking at his 12 points agenda.”

Speaking after receiving the decamped members at Kwanar Dole, the state APC chairman, Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel said the APC is ready to accept anybody for the development of the party.

Gumel promised to work with the new members for the victory of the party.
