Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is hopeful that the injuries sustained by Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes against Crystal Palace are not serious.
Arsenal returned to winning ways following three consecutive defeats with a convincing 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
However, during the encounter, Rice and Gabriel failed to last the 90 minutes against Crystal Palace, with the England midfielder appearing to confirm he had sustained a hamstring strain before coming off the pitch.
Gabriel, on the other hand, seemed to be complaining of a calf niggle as he made his way to the substitutes’ bench with 15 minutes remaining.
Asked for an update on the duo after the game, Arteta said in his post-match interview: “Declan was feeling something—a sensation in the hamstring at 3-0. Gabriel, he had a tackle, I think, in the first half on his knee and I think he was a little bit struggling.”
Asked if the problems were potentially serious, Arteta added: “I hope not but let’s see.”
