No fewer than 19 suspected kidnappers have been arrested in Ondo State by operatives of the state’s Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps.
The suspects, according to the Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, were apprehended in the northern senatorial districts of the state.
The Amotekun boss added that 17 other suspected criminals were also arrested.
While parading the suspects at the headquarters of the Corps in Akure, Adeleye noted that Amotekun operatives have been deployed across the 18 local government areas of the state.
He also urged the people and traditional rulers to be vigilant about strange faces within their neighbourhoods as well within the forest areas.
“I want to place it on record that in the last month, there were three kidnapping attempts that we were able to foil successfully. Which means that in the last month, there have been no successful kidnapping activities.
“A cross section of these criminals is a little bit different from what we normally have, where we parade 20 people and 15 of them are kidnapping suspects. We have more housebreaking and stealing,” Adeleye said.
