Oil theft: Tantita, NSCDC arrest vessel laden with 3,000 tons of stolen crude

Operatives of Tantita Security Limited, in a joint operation with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested a vessel laden with about 3000 tons of stolen crude oil at Sokebolou in Bayelsa State.

This is coming six days after the Nigerian Navy launched “Operation Delta Sanity” In Warri, Delta State.

Tantita Executive Director, Capt. Warriedi Enisuoh, commended the joint security team for the arrest of the vessel.

Enisuoh said they intercepted the vessel, “MT Kali weighing (3,000) tons loaded with approximately 119 tonnes of suspected stolen crude oil in one of their operation based in Bayelsa.”

He said the operatives will not relent until the fight against oil theft in the Niger Delta maritime domain is won.

Captain of the arrested vessel, David Adeboye, said they were instructed to load AGO, and not crude oil, before they were arrested.

DAILY POST reports that the arrested vessel is anchored at Tantita operations base at Oporoza in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Excravos Water, awaiting directive from the Federal Government.
