Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to support and respect traditional institutions as the custodians of the people’s heritage and culture.
Speaking at a special dinner in honour of the new Wazirin Bauchi, Alhaji Uba Kari, who marked his first anniversary since his appointment and turbaning in 2023, the governor, represented by his deputy, Mohammed Awal Jatau, acknowledged the pivotal role of traditional institutions in nation-building.
Mohammed emphasised the respect accorded to the traditional title of Waziri and encouraged the new Wazirin Bauchi to continue his commendable efforts.
He also called upon the traditional leaders, as guardians of the culture and traditions, to support his administration’s initiatives for the overall success of the state.
In his vote of thanks, Wazirin Bauchi, Alhaji Mohammed Uba Kari, expressed gratitude to the state government and the Emirate Council for deeming him worthy of the position.
He pledged an open-door policy, welcoming contributions to move the emirate and the state forward.
