Bayer Leverkusen winger, Nathan Tella has been handed a maiden invitation for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Tella, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, recently declared his interest to represent the three-time African champions.
According to SCORE Nigeria, Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has included the 25-year-old in his squad for the games.
The former Burnley player will come in as a direct replacement for the injured Samuel Chukwueze.
Tella, who joined Bundesliga outfit, Bayer Leverkusen this summer, will hope to make his debut for the three-time African champions during the upcoming games.
He will follow the likes of Ademola Lookman and Semi Ajayi, who were born in England but have since opted to play for the country of their parents.
