A faction within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has raised concerns about the escalating insecurity in the state, describing it as a haven for criminals.
The group, led by Shuaibu Danladi, the Leader of Karu PDP Concerned Members, criticized the state government for its perceived failure to effectively address the security challenges plaguing the region.
Danladi, in a statement issued, asserted that Nasarawa State has become vulnerable to insecurity, leading to a surge in criminal activities.
The group contended that the government’s inability to tackle security challenges has left citizens and residents living in fear.
The statement noted the critical role of the government in providing a secure environment for people to live peacefully and for businesses to thrive.
Shuaibu, expressing the sentiments of the concerned PDP members, questioned the government’s efficacy in dealing with the prevalent issue of kidnapping, lamenting the alarming frequency of residents being kidnapped, killed and robbed on a daily basis, characterizing the situation as untenable.
The statement added that the rise in criminal activities has turned Nasarawa State into a breeding ground for children without parents.
