Sebastine Broderick: NFF reveals cause of death of ex-Golden Eaglets coach

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has revealed the cause of death of a former head coach of Nigeria’s U-17 male national team, Sebastine Broderick.

Broderick passed away at the age of 85 in a hospital in Benin City.

In a post on X on Thursday, the NFF confirmed he died while undergoing treatment for diabetes and strokes.

The NFF post reads: “The Federation is saddened by the passing of veteran coach Sebastian Broderick-Imasuen.

“The 85-year-old was the first man to lead an African team to win a FIFA World Cup.

“He died at a hospital in Benin while undergoing treatment for diabetes and stroke.

“Rest in peace Sabara.”
