Algeria legend, Rabah Madjer, has backed the Super Eagles to challenge for the title at the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Jose Peseiro’s side will be gunning for a fourth title in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
Madjer picked the Super Eagles among the favourites to win the title.
“Predicting standout teams is a challenging task, given the diverse pool of formidable contenders,”Madjer who won the AFCON title with Algeria in 1990, told CAFonline.
“Some teams will obviously be aiming to go far in the continental competition, while others enter the competition with the sole aim of clinching the coveted title.
“Naming a specific team as the favourite is extremely challenging, especially with giants like the host nation Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, and Nigeria participating in the finals.”
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
