Crashes: FRSC restates commitment to sustain campaign against speeding in 2024

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Command, says it is committed to sustaining an intensive campaign against overspeeding to stem road crashes in 2024.

Ogun Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Anthony Uga, stated on Wednesday in Ota, saying that speed had been one of the major causes of death along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the state at large.

Uga implored the motoring public to drive according to the extant rules and regulations guarding FRSC to minimize tragedy in 2024.

“We are going to sustain mobile speed control patrol and also sustain traffic coming using the red flag.

“The FRSC would also sustain enforcement to make sure that those unrepentant motorists would face the wrath of the law by booking intensively and giving them robust public enlightenment,” he said.

Uga empathized with the need to add more bite to its operations to stem the tide of road crashes in the state.

He added that sensitisation programmes would be extended to churches and mosques to educate the public.
