4 suspected kidnappers arrested in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four people for allegedly kidnapping two residents of Tudun Wada in Michika Local Government Area, Aminu Alhaji Shehu and Ali Alhaji Shehu.

The Command said in a statement on Friday that its operatives made the arrest in collaboration with military operatives on February 8, 2024.

It gave the names of the suspects as Abubakar Abdullahi, 39 years old and a resident of Mubi South Local Government Area; and Ibrahim Garba, 35 years old and a resident of Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

The other two, according to the statement signed by police image maker Suleiman Nguroje, are Isa Ahmadu, 30 years old and a resident of Dawarsa in Yobe State; and Bulama Ahmadu, 20 years old and a resident of Dawarsa, Yobe State.

The police said the suspects were arrested after they organized and kidnapped the two victims in the House of one of them, Ali Alhaji Shehu.

The police statement mentioned a different instance in which “another coordinated crime fighting strategy was carried out in collaboration with hunters at Gamu Hill.”

It said that in the Gamu Hill operation, one of the kidnappers that had been terrorizing Jada as well as Ganye and villages around them was neutralized and one AK-47 rifle recovered.
