2026 WCQ: Super Eagles hold first training ahead Lesotho clash

The Super Eagles started preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Lesotho in Uyo on Tuesday.

All 23 players took part in the session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Six players arrived at the team’s camp on Monday while the remaining 17 players linked up with their teammates on Tuesday.

Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie was the last player to arrive at the team’s Four Points Hotel base.

Obasogie was a late replacement for the injured Maduka Okoye.

The team will have their last training session on Wednesday.

The encounter against the Likuena is billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Thursday.

Jose Peseiro’s side will also do battle with the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Huye Stadium in Butare on Sunday.
