Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, has admitted that the Squirrels of Benin Republic will head into Monday’s (today) clash with his side in a confident mood after their morale boosting 1-0 win against Rwanda.
The win against the Bees was Rwanda’s first in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying series.
The Super Eagles, on the other hand, are still searching for their first victory after three consecutive draws.
Finidi claimed the Super Eagles will face a team full confidence at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
“They just won their last match and the morale is going to be very high in their team and there’s no other day for us to travel. We have to travel today, be in Abidjan, so we can do our training.
“We know tomorrow is the match and we’ll see how we have to play. They won their last match, so the spirit will be high.
“It was a good thing. We got to the hotel and rested a bit. We have our session this evening.”
The encounter will kick-off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
