Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, in a New Year message, has called for compassion by Nigerians for the common good.
Fintiri, in the message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, asked that as the world enters the new year, “Let our actions be guided by compassion, understanding, and a commitment to the common good of our state and nation in general.”
He advised that Nigeria’s diversity should become more of a motivation for unity.
“Let our cultural diversity add colour to us as a people as we encourage mutual respect, celebrating and cherishing the traditions and religions that bind us as one people,” Fintiri said.
Speaking directly to the people of Adamawa State, he said his best as the governor will come in the new year.
“Our strength as a state, and indeed a nation lies in our unity. Together, we have faced challenges and conquered, emerging stronger.
“Our government with great zest has strived to deliver needed services to its people within available resources,” the governor said.
He added, “I enjoin us to go on with a spirit that gives support so that as we journey towards progress, no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched.
“In 2024, we must be set to embrace the opportunities that the year brings, supporting and praying for this government to succeed on the 8-point agenda it is set out to achieve.”
